Exciting new opportunity for an experienced General Foreman with a background in Civil Engineering to join a specialist contractor delivering Highway packages of work in Colchester. The project encompasses drainage, earthworks, groundworks, highways and bridge structures.
To be considered you will need to have ground works, drainage and earthworks experience and have SSSTS - SMSTS qualifications.
You will be working closely with the site management team and collaborating with the various sub-contractors.
Some of your duties will include:
Ensuring all site works is in accordance with company procedures.
Deliver toolbox talks
Ensure H&S procedures are adhered to
Ensure all site resources and labour are being used effectively to achieve timely completion of projects
Control and monitor waste, dust and other environmental issues.
Ensure all site deliveries/collections are being well planned due to the location and limited space on site
Responsible for all traffic management pre-checks, before any works commence on site
Responsible for completing Site Safety Inspections, Site Quality Inspections, Tools/Plant inspections (PUWER), Towers and scaffolding Inspections, Pre- pour inspection, Lifting equipment Inspections (LOLER).
Responsible to always find/use the safer delivery method
Brief the workforce every morning on the specific task and put people to work
Supervise all street works to ensure they are complying with the Street Works Code of Practice
